John Deere ECU – DZ113913

We have just spent four weeks trying to get the speed biasing to work on a John Deere generator.
We asked the agents in South Africa to come out and open the ECU up for analogue speed biasing so we could synchronise our generators .
They came out made some changes, charged a fortune and left.
We have struggled to get help and support from the local agents and overseas distributors.
Finally we got the local agent to come to site and reprogram the ECU to accept an analogue speed signal on Primary Throttle analogue input 2.
The analogue speed bias signal goes into the ECU on Plug 3 pin 10 – see attached drawing. The ECU needs to be enabled for external speed adjustment and the throttle Analogue input two must be enabled.
The plug on the right is customer interface plug 3
The bias signal to the ECU pin 10, should have a lower limit at -5 volts with the upper limit at +5 volts. This should be a PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) signal and the characteristic should be positive. Meaning that if the signal to the ECU goes positive the speed/frequency will rise and if the signal goes negative the speed/ frequency will fall.
